Payments / Cards, wallet, and receipts
Movago brings rides, scheduled trips, courier deliveries, events, and local services together in the customer app.
Movago brings rides, scheduled trips, courier deliveries, events, and local services together in the customer app. This article explains understanding payments and payment methods, including the main workflow, relevant conditions, and what to expect in the app.
### Where money lives
- Payment Methods — saved cards. Add Payment Method adds one.
- Credit Wallet — Movago balance. Top-ups are not the same as a ride charge, a ticket, or a gift card.
- Transaction History — past charges.
- Receipt Preferences — how receipts are delivered.
- Payment needed (/payments/blocking) is the list of payments that are blocking new bookings. The banner on Home and some booking screens opens it. One item says “blocking new bookings”; several say the same with an “s”.
### Removing a card
A card cannot be removed while the server returns PAYMENT_METHOD_IN_USE. The app says the card cannot be removed until related payments are resolved. The error lists each block. Each block has a type, an action, and a reason.
Types:
- Active hold
- Open payment
- Subscription
Actions the app shows:
- Void hold
- Cancel
- Complete or void
- Settle or cancel
- Cancel or replace
Where the row sends them:
- A service booking → that service booking
- A trip booking → that booking
- A ride request → that request
- An event → that event
- A subscription, or “cancel or replace” → My Subscription
- Anything else → Payment needed
### Gift cards
- Buy under Gift Cards.
- Schedule delivery under Delivery time. Those sit in Upcoming gifts until they send.
- Received cards are My Gift Cards.
- Redeem from Redeem Gift Card, including a link/token if someone sent one.
- A gift card is not wallet cash until they redeem it, and it is not a saved card.
### Subscriptions
The relevant booking category matters: a ride request, scheduled trip, courier delivery, service appointment, and event ticket are managed separately. Changes become visible when the corresponding action succeeds; an unavailable button, incomplete setup, or pending payment means the next stage has not yet been reached. Always rely on the status displayed for the particular item rather than assuming it has progressed.
Review the eligibility requirements and status described above. Missing required information, an earlier incomplete step, or an account-level limitation may prevent the action. Where the application displays a specific reason or a required next step, that message is the best guide to resolving the issue. For payments or decisions requiring review, use the relevant in-app support channel rather than assuming an automatic reversal or approval.
